 THINGS YOU’LL NEED:

  • Small Food Processor
  • Deep Fryer or Large Pot For Frying
  • Parchment Paper
  • Large Pan with Rack Insert
  • Small Pot
  • Stovetop

INGREDIENTS:

  • Large Cheese Block
  • 3 Cups Flour
  • Italian Seasoned Bread Crumbs
  • 5 Large Eggs
  • Italian Seasoning & Salt
  • Ranch (optional dipping sauce)

Honey Chipotle Sauce

  • Chipotle Peppers, 1 Can
  • 3 Tbsp Honey
  • 1Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 Cup Ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp Chipotle Seasoning
Nashville Hot Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Oil
  • 3 Tbsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • 1/4 Cup Franks Hot Sauce
  • 6 Drops The Bomb OR Hot Sauce Extract
  • 3-6 Drops Orange Food Gel
Marinara
  • Can of Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Sugar

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Start with making your sauces. Blitz together the honey chipotle ingredients in a a food processor and put on the heat until boiling, simmer for 3 minutes and take off the heat to cool until ready to serve. For the Nashville hot sauce mix together the ingredients and mix on heat. Add food gel if wanted but unnecessary. (also OK to add the oil from the fryer instead of heating  in a pot) For the marinara mix together the ingredients and set aside.
  2. Follow by cutting your cheese block(s) into 3.5 by 2 by .5 for normal size mozzarella sticks. For A giant one cut 7 by 4 by 1.
  3. Batter with seasoned flour first, then seasoned scrambled egg, and then Italian bread crumbs. Repeat.  Place on parchment paper and cover with plastic wrap. Rest in the freezer until firm for 30 minutes to 1 hour prior frying.
  4. Preheat the fryer (or fryer oil) to 350F.  Deep fry until the cheese starts to crack out of the sticks, about 3 minutes OR 5 minutes for the big one. You should see a golden brown color.. You can also air fry the normal mozzarella sticks at 350 for 6 minutes but flipping half way through to crisp up both sides.
  5. These are ready to eat right away with the marinara OR serve coated in the Honey Chipotle or Nashville Hot Sauce and Dip in Ranch.
